EBB is the ebiquity research group\\\'s blog at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). We focus on technologies that facilitate the design, implementation and control of distributed, intelligent information systems -- mobile and pervasive computing, ad hoc networking, multiagent systems, knowledge representation and reasoning, and the semantic web. As the tides of technology ebb and flow, we hope the good ideas wash up on our beach and the bad ones drift back out to sea.

Have Both of MSIE 8 beta 2 and Chrome beta, and you all have to remember that they are both not "bug-free" and have issues with Java, ActiveX, Flash functions and popups....

My idea - don't change your browser until all is working 100% ;-)

Google Chrome is good for sure because it is fast. But it has lots of downs under the hood and not as great as IE 8 Beta 2 or Firefox.

Check our my Google Chrome Review:
http://www.johnraul.com/google-strikes-hard-with-chrome-but-oh-no-not-another-browser-again/

My IE 8 Beta 2 Review:
http://www.johnraul.com/ie-8-beta-2-is-an-eye-opener-to-web-surfers-developers/

Think about it and then decide. For now, I'll use FF and IE8.

My site (with quite a bit of javascript) displayed trouble free 'out of the box' for I.E.8. Still can't make it display correctly in Chrome.

You are lying. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 is fast like a rabbit, lightweight like a feather, and cleaver like no one of you.
Surrender to Microsoft Empire.
Long life to Windows!
Death to Linux (and Cuba)!

The Chrome install was very easy. I noticed how much fast GMail was immediately, at least 50% that FF3 (although I really love FF3!). Picasa was also faster, but this could be due to the Picasa 3 upgrade. Google Maps worked fine, with zooming and panning being noticeably faster, but not like GMail. Probably the most noticeable difference was in the predictive browser box - extremely fast and especially relevant. I haven't tried IE8, but the footprint is four times larger than Chrome, and I don't have the latest and greatest processor to burn through all that code.

I have installed Google Chrome and found browsing fun with its simple Gtalk like Simplicity. I'll stick with FireFox for now until Chrome gets some useful plugins to enhance it.
