Gender and Computing

This talk explores how girls and women differ from boys and men in their uses of and attitude toward computing technology and how this affects career choices and technology design. From playing video games to pursuing computing careers, the participation of females is lower than that of males. Why is this? Dr. Klawe will discuss research findings, as well as best practices for increasing the participation of girls and women in computing.
