| Title: Gender and Computing Speaker: Maria Klawe Start Date: Friday, September 19, 2008, 01:00PM End Date: Friday, September 19, 2008, 02:30PM Location: 229 ITE Abstract: This talk explores how girls and women differ from boys and men in their uses of and attitude toward computing technology and how this affects career choices and technology design. From playing video games to pursuing computing careers, the participation of females is lower than that of males. Why is this?
