<event:abstract>Ontological Semantics (OntoSem) is the theory of meaning in natural language text. It deals with extracting and representing meaning and is supported by a 'constructed world model' which is a rich Ontology and a Fact Repository. The project OntoSem2OWL is investigating the feasibility of developing a system to translate ontologies and data between OntoSem and OWL.

The talk would summarize some of the preliminary results of mapping OntoSem to OWL. It also describes some of the functional specifications for mapping the concepts, properties and facets of OntoSem and some ideas for how this could be used in integrating language understanding agents into the Semantic Web. </event:abstract>
