<event:abstract><![CDATA[This talk will examine the development of innovative technologies in MIT's lab, including bio-sensor clothing designed to monitor the wearer's health conditions, gadgets that remind older adults to take their medication and the "Aware Car," a vehicle equipped with warning systems and safety features designed for older drivers. The MIT AgeLab was created by the school's Engineering Systems Division in 1999 to develop technological innovations that will affect everyday living for older people. The initiative is targeted toward the anticipated surge in aging population as "baby boomers" reach their senior years.

Following the talk, an informal discussion with light refreshments is planned from 12:30-1:00.]]></event:abstract>
