Weblogs, or blogs, have become an important new way to publish information, engage in discussions and form communities. The memeta project is developing a framework for representing and studying the structure and content of blogs. We are particularly interested in how metadata about blogs can be extracted, discovered and computed and how this metadata can be used in the analysis of blogs and to provide new blog related services.

We'll brainstorm about ideas for Web 2.0 applications
that use RDF data. The AJAX paradigm is a key
characteristic of Web 2.0 applications and is a good fit for driving
web applications using RDF data. Here's an overview presentation
and there are some exmples here and here. Anubhav Kale will start with a brief
introduction to AJAX and we will spend the rest of the time exploring
ideas. Note that we will start at 9:30 instead of our usual 10:30
so that students can go to the GE eve...

Intrusion Detections
Systems(IDSs) in ad hoc networks monitor other devices for
intentional deviation from protocol, i.e., misbehavior. This process
is complicated due
to limited radio range and mobility of nodes. Unlike conventional
IDSs, it is not
possible to monitor nodes for long durations. As a result IDSs suffer from
a large number of false positives. Moreover other environmental conditions like
radio interference and congestion increase false positives,

We will discuss a framework that will employ bartering techniques and
value based management of services and electronic goods (MP3s, ring tones,
electronic coupons) in pervasive computing environments in a personalized
and context aware manner. Value-for-value exchange will promote
collaboration between devices and will also assist in efficient
administration of services and information on devices in pervasive
computing environments.
