Fabrizio Petrini is a senior researcher of the Cell Solution Department of the IBM TJ Watson Research Laboratory. Before his appointment at TJ Watson, he was a laboratory fellow at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a member of the technical staff at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and a research fellow at the Computing Laboratoty of the Oxford University. His research interests include various aspects of multi-core processors and supercomputers, including high-performance interconnection networks and network interfaces, fault tolerance, job scheduling algorithms, parallel architectures, operating systems, and parallel programming languages. He has received numerous awards from the US Department of Energy (DOE) for contributions to supercomputing projects, and from other organizations for scientific publications. He is associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Processing.
