Murray Campbell
Murray Campbell Primary Role:Adjunct Faculty Company:IBM T.J. Watson Research CenterDepartment: Intelligent Information Analysis Group Biography: Murray Campbell manages the Intelligent Information Analysis group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, NY. His group currently focuses on two main areas: analysis of real-time sensor data for early warning applications, and indexing and searching of multimedia data. He is currently participating in an engagement with a supermajor petroleum company to deploy IBM early warning technology on a large number of wells. Prior to this he was involved in surveillance projects related to disease outbreak and financial data. In earlier work, Murray was a member of the team that developed Deep Blue, the first computer to defeat the reigning world chess champion in a regulation match. |
