Weidong Kou Primary Role:Collaborator Company:IBMBiography: Prof. Weidong Kou is currently Chief Architect and Technical Executive, IBM Software Group, Greater China Group. Prof. Kou is the Laureate of 2004 Friendship Award of China, the most prestige award and highest honor from the national government of China to recognize an international expert for his/her significant contribution to China. Before returning to IBM in 2004, Prof. Kou was on leave from IBM and served as Dean, the School of Computer Science at Xidian University, and Director of the National ISN Research Lab in China. He was Associate Director of E-business Institute at the University of Hong Kong.
Prof. Kou has over 20 years of experience in the IT field,
including over 12 years of industrial experience in North
America. He has received various awards from IBM, AT&T, and
Siemens. Prof. Kou is Senior Member of IEEE, and was elected as
Member of New York Academy of Sciences in 1992. Prof. Kou has
authored/edited 8 books, and published over 100 papers on
journals and conferences. He also authored over 20 issued patents
from US, Canada, UK, Japan, France, Singapore, South Korea,
Taiwan and the Mainland China. He has served as Guest
Editor/Associate Editor for several international journals,
and was General Chair of 2004 IEEE International Conference on
E-Commerce Technology for Dynamic E-Business.
