UMBC Ebiquity FAQ
The Basics
- Who or what is ebiquity?
The UMBC eBiquity Research Group consists of faculty and students
from the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
(CSEE) of University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), located in
Baltimore MD. See "about
us" for more information.
- What does the name mean?
We made it up during the Internet bubble, when it seemed to make
sense to stick an e in front of everything. We were looking
for a name that captured our focus on ubiquitous computing. We've
since constructed a just
so story to explain it -- see ebiquity
defined.
- Were are you located, exactly?
At UMBC, obviously. We have four labs on the third floor of the
UMBC Information Technology and Engineering (ITE)
building -- rooms 332, 377, 338 and 368 (see floorplan).

- Do you have intern positions?
We have some opportunities for UMBC students to work on projects
with us during the summer either for academic credit or for pay. If
you are interested, please contact the appropriate faculty member.
Unfortunately, we do not, in general, have any opportunities for
students from other institutions.
