Abstract: Radio Frequency IDentification(RFID) systems allow automatic capturing of data using contactless, non-line-of-sight radio frequency identification. RFID systems are becoming increasingly popular with some of the key industry players investing in the technology. The mandates issued by giants like Walmart and DoD have created a stir in the RFID industry which is still in its nascent stage. RFID tags are expected to replace tha bar codes in the near future. There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding the privacy aspects of RFID systems. The next obvious question is therefore localization and tracking using RFID.

So, how serious is the threat of RFID to privacy?!!!
