Development of Task Computing Applications and Devices Title: Development of Task Computing Applications and Devices Speaker: Tetsu Yamamoto Start Date: Thursday, March 10, 2005, 11:00AM End Date: Thursday, March 10, 2005, 12:00PM Location: 325b or 346 ITE Abstract: To make Task Computing Environment more attractive and appeal it to customers, Fujitsu Laboratories in Japan has developed some applications and devices based on TCE architecture. We built demonstrations for an office scene and a car system(ITS) combining with other technologies, Spatial Information System(SIS) and ubiquitous IP phone. These demonstrations have given many people a very novel impression of pervasive computing in the future. Besides these applications, we have developed some home appliances connected on different platform so that they work as TC services and can be coordinated in TCE. This will help to expand the world of TCE and increase the number of developers. To make it easy to embed TC function into the appliances, the core modules of TCE have been transported to Linux and LSI firmware. This talk introduces the applications and devices we have developed, and some hints for the next step of TCE are indicated through the responses from customers and developers.
