Marjorie McShane (Ph.D., Princeton University) is a Research Assistant Professor in the CSEE Department of UMBC and Computational Linguists at ILIT. Dr. McShane is interested in the computationally tractable description of language phenomena, which includes not only describing the actual syntax, lexical and compositional semantics, pragmatics and discourse phenomena in a language but also developing heuristics for detecting the corresponding meanings from text.
