Project Description:
The Materials Genome Initiative can benefit from the development and use of ontologies and semantic data representations for the materials science and engineering domain. These can play an important role in an infrastructure that will accelerate advanced materials discovery and deployment. Specifically, they will support better and more intelligent data management, analysis, integration, and sharing. Together, these new semantic capabilities will help to leverage existing Federal investments by supporting a more integrated approach to materials science and engineering. We are developing ontologies and linked data resources to support the MGI initiative.
